Sunset Kayak Self-Guided Tours of Federal Wildlife Refuge for up to 4 hours

Once you arrive at the Siletz Kayak launch site, you’ll get fitted to your kayaks and gear, and we’ll get going so we don’t miss the sunset.
There’s something about a sunset. As the sun slowly lowers over the horizon, the salt marsh takes on a special hue, and stillness takes over.
Imagine the sky is brilliant with burnt orange and fiery red colors. The clouds are outlined with energetic shades of pink and purple.
Looking down at the water, you are surrounded by a crisp, pure reflection of the sky that hangs far over your head. You are experiencing the most vivacious and beautiful colors you have ever seen.
Watching the salt marsh settle into its evening routine is a special privilege. Flocks of birds begin to fly back to their nightly roosts.
On this laid-back and fascinating tour, you’ll witness the natural order of life in the estuary as day gives way to night.

ACTIVITY LEVEL
Participants will kayak with the tides for an enjoyable trip.
WHAT TO WEAR
Shoes that will stay on your feet, a hat, and synthetic clothing (it will dry faster than cotton). During cooler weather, dress in layers.
WHAT TO BRING
Drinking water and sunscreen
WEATHER
Weather (thunderstorms or high winds) may impact this excursion. Cancellations usually occur due to lightning, thunder, or high winds, and we will reschedule your group if needed.
Our general cancellation policies apply unless our experts determine it is potentially unsafe or unwise to venture out. If we decide to cancel due to weather, we will make every effort to call you at least two hours before your departure and help you reschedule or credit/refund the full cost of your trip.
