The Siletz Federal Refuge Fishing Guide
The lower Siletz River is famous for anyone wanting to fish for salmon. It runs alongside the refuge and has a spring and fall run of Chinook salmon, coho, steelhead, and cutthroat trout. The refuge offers bank fishing from the Alder Island Nature Trail.
This easy, half-mile walking trail winds along the Siletz River and Millport Slough. Parking and bank fishing are available from sunrise to sunset. Dogs are NOT allowed on the nature trail.
Hours & Fees
Siletz Bay National Wildlife Refuge is open from sunrise to sunset. No overnight parking is allowed. There are no fees to use this refuge.

Directions
Siletz Bay National Wildlife Refuge is located just south of Lincoln City along US Highway 101. Look for the refuge sign and turn east onto Millport Slough Lane into the refuge parking lot. The GPS coordinates are 44°53’42.87”N 124°00’34.14”W.

The Siletz Kayak, Canoe, and Boat Rentals are located directly across the Siletz River from the Refuge. They rent kayaks, canoes, and boats, and they even rent fishing poles.
Then, you can fish the entire 583 aches of waterway in the Siletz Bay National Wildlife Refuge.
The fall run of Chinook is the most popular with anglers, but a diversity of surfperch enter the bay in late spring. Depending on tides and weather conditions, fishing for surfperch ranges from fair to excellent through fall.
