Dungeness crabs are some of the most delicious gifts from the sea, and catching your own is a unique experience that will help you enjoy your meal even more.
Although these animals are plentiful, trapping them takes some skill and expertise. You could miss out on this delicious catch if you don’t have the right crab trap for your Crab-Crabbing situation.
There are several different Dungeness crab trap designs for different Crabbing situations and budgets.

Danielson Crab Trap is a collapsible, folding trap. It’s highly durable and corrosion-adverse, so it can be kept in the water for a long time.
good trap to use from a dock or boat.
We do not sell these, but we do rent them.
It is from the “SOAKER” type family of Crab Traps. You pull the trap after soaking it for an hour or longer. It works by using the Crab’s instincts to trap itself.
It lures the Crab with a bait bag into the large cage through strategically placed openings that they can enter but cannot escape. It is a good trap to use from a dock or boat.
It’s also relatively large, at 24 inches long and 12 inches high, so you’ll have the opportunity to catch several crabs throughout the day.
During good Crabbing weather, the Docks and Pier are full of crabbers. Since you can only keep the large male Crabs, the others continuously throw back the females and small ones, and you keep catching the ones your crabbing neighbor just threw back.
Ring Crab Trap … The concept is straightforward: You bait the traps so the crabs walk into the ring without obstructions.
Then, when you “THINK” the crabs are inside, you pull the trap up; the outer ring makes a fence to keep the crab inside.
We do not sell these, but we do rent them.

You should pull the Crab Ring up quickly, as the outer ring forms a wall against which the Crab cannot escape.
You will pull a Crab Ring up every 5 -10 minutes, depending on the crab activity.
On a dock, you will always pull at an angle; if you pull at an angle, you can lose the crabs. It is best to pull straight up. It is a good trap to use from a boat.
Since the boat can move, you can lose the Crab if you do not pull the Ring Trap straight up. Otherwise, the Danielson Crab Trap and Ring Trap are good options from a boat.
Over the past years of renting Crab Traps, our customers have told us what was wrong with each style and how to improve them. We have listened, but the manufacturers would modify their traps, so we decided to start making our own traps.
We purchased the Original Crab Max© and have used them in our Crab Trap rental business since 2012. These are excellent traps, and we liked them so much that we became a distributor.
The Original Crab Max© is still available at some local stores, but the supply is limited.
The secret to the Crab Max© is that the crabs can access the bait without restrictions, such as bait bags or gates. The Crab bait is open and accessible for the crabs to eat. This means the crabs will eat your bait fast. Therefore, with a Crab Max©, you have to. Pull in the Crab Max© Trap quite often—every five to six minutes, the crabs will have all the bait. We are attempting to solve this problem by adding the Load-n-Go© Bait Barrel CLICK HERE fior details
The Round Crab Max© is the result of the customer’s feedback. We manufacture it. The difference is in the netting area. Both traps are 24″ on the base, but the Round Crab Max© has 50% more catching area because it is round and not a triangle..
Area of circle = radius X radius X 3,1417 …. Round Crab Max, when folded out, makes a circle with a radius of 12 ….12 X 12 X 3.1417 = 452 sq inches
Area of square = width X height …. Crab Max when folded out make square width = 17 …height =17…… 17 x 17 = 289 sq inches
Circle Area minus Square Area (452-289)=163 inches increase and 163/289 = 56% more than a 50% increase
We are always testing and improving our traps. For example, when you rent, you may get some traps with our standard chick spike design, some with a new, improved chicken spike, some with a Load-n-Go© bait barel, and some with a Crab Attractant Pad,
To do this, we must continue to turn over our rental inventory. We do this by making special deals on our inventory. Such as:
