Salmon are the undisputed kings of Oregon’s fishing scene and are tightly woven within the culture of this state. They inhabit fresh, brackish, and salt waters.
Anglers focus on two varieties – Chinook and Coho. Chinook grows to massive sizes, tastes delicious, and will hit your line hard. Coho may not reach such impressive sizes, but they’re also seriously feisty fighters.
Another big pull in fishing for Salmon in Oregon is their availability. This state boasts five Salmon runs. The season kicks off in March when Chinook enter rivers. Then, the Chinook can be targeted when summer comes around.
Fall sees Coho and Chinook congregate in the ocean, waiting for the rains to tell them to swim to their breeding grounds. The coastal bays are teeming with both varieties from fall through winter.
Depending on where you’ll be fishing, you can target your chosen Salmon species in various ways. Trolling with live bait such as herring, mackerel, and sand shrimp is a tried-and-true method along the bays and in broader sections of the main rivers. You can also cast bobber rigs baited with shrimp and salmon roe when fishing from a boat or the river banks.

When you eat far fewer carbs, your body begins to burn fat for fuel. This can put your body into a metabolic state called ketosis. In this state, your liver turns fat into small energy molecules called ketones, which your brain and other organs can use for energy. In addition, eating this way often lowers insulin levels, which can help you access your body fat stores for energy.
The Ketosis state is beneficial for losing excess body fat without hunger.
Many studies show significant weight loss on keto without having to count calories.
The video below is the science behind weight loss.
